‘Jalaleddin’, new historical series on ifilm playlist

ifilm’s new series, ‘Jalaleddin’, has been scheduled to go on air on February 9, 2017.

The series, produced by Mehdi Homayounfar and co-directed by Shahram Asadi and Arash Moayyerian, depicts parts of the life of ancient Persian poet Mowlana (Mowlavi) Jalaleddin Mohammad Balkhi, aka Rumi in certain countries.

A 13th-century Persian poet, jurist, Islamic scholar, and theologian, his influence transcends national borders and ethnic divisions.

His poems have been widely translated into many languages. Mowlavi has been described as the “most popular poet” and the “best selling poet” in the United States.

The series cast list includes Atash Taqipour, Mahtaj Nojoumi, Ali-Reza Khamseh, Ali Nasiriyan, Arash Majidi, Shabnam Moqaddami, Ali Dehkordi, Ladan Mostofi, and Mohammad Feyli.

‘Jalaleddin’, made in 2014, is scheduled to be the replacement for the series ‘Sheikh Bahaee’, which will be aired daily at 21:00 GMT (01:30 Tehran time).

ifilm English will also repeat each episode of the drama the next day at 02:00, 06:00 and 13:00 (all GMT times). The series comprises 11 episodes.
